Today we have for you a FRET12 Exclusive video where Mark Tremonti breaks down the solo from “You Waste Your Time” and teaches you how to play it.  In the same fashion as the Sound and the Story DVD where he broke down the solos from Blackbird, Mark lets you in on how he put together this shredtastic piece of music.  Click the screenshot below and start practicing!!

Tremonti has announced a New York show Wednesday, September 12 at the Highline Ballroom.  Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday the 3rd at noon.  You can get your tickets here.  All you fans of VH1’s That Metal Show will be able to catch Mark on an episode this season.  You can read about the guests on the upcoming season here.  Be sure to keep checking the Tremonti website as big announcements are coming soon.

MUSIC NEWS 

Randy Blythe is still being held in a Czech prison due to the manslaughter charges brought upon him.  Because of this Lamb of God has cancelled their tour with Dethklok and Gojira that was set to begin yesterday, August 1.

Coheed and Cambria has formally announced plans for a double concept album titled “The Afterman” which will be released in two installments on October 9, 2012 and in February 2013.  The first disc will be called “Ascension” and the second will be “Decension.”  An album trailer released Tuesday morning can be viewed here.

Former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic confirmed that he will be working with former bandmate Dave Grohl on music for the upcoming documentary on Sound City Studios.
