BETWEEN THE FRETS ::: 8/1/11

Kingdom Lost

Caleb Followill, the frontman of Kings of Leon, had a concert to remember Friday night in Dallas. The singer seemed intoxicated and acted quite odd eventually walking off stage to “vomit.” The other members of the band were forced to cancel the rest of the concert. Watch a video of the events here!

Yep, That’s His Foot In His Mouth

David Draiman is kicking himself, or just loves attention. Probably both, but speculation aside, the Disturbed frontman’s words about the band’s hiatus set off a fire storm of media and fan reaction that have left the band having to answer question after question about the possibility of the band calling it quits. FRET12 will be sitting down with guitarist Dan Donegan Friday at the Mayhem Festival. If you would like a question answered by Dan, click here to submit.

Maylene’s New Gig

Maylene and the Sons of Disaster have a new album coming out. IV, the follow-up to III, will be released September 27th. If you have not checked out this band, now is the time!

Mayhem Loses In Flames

Swedish metal band In Flames was forced to pull out of this summer’s Mayhem Festival because of a serious family illness. No other detail were given, our thoughts and prayers go out to the band.

Bob Rock Still Hoping For Metallica To Call…

Producer Bob Rock, who produced many of Metallica’s album including the Black Album, recently had an interview with MusicRadar.com where he talked about the album’s recording. Check out the interview here.

Another Child Prodigy To Make You Feel Terrible

Check out this video of a seven year old kid playing drums at a Taking Back Sunday soundcheck. This kid rules!

Tom Delonge and Airwaves (182)

Even with Blink 182 getting ready to tour, Tom Delonge is still working with Angels and Airwaves on the side. Check out this trailer for the band’s movie “Love,” and a live performance of their song “Epic Holiday.”

Sex, Drugs, and Electronica

Funny the things that happen after a movie premiere riot. Perhaps predictably, the ‘Electric Daisy Carnival Experience’ theater tour has been cancelled by AMC and Regal theaters, thanks to the mobbed, chaotic meltdown outside the Hollywood premiere last week.  Meanwhile, police are still sifting through the aftermath of a situation that required the shutdown of several city blocks, mass arrests, and attacks on police and equipment.
