JACK WHITE TRIES A NEW DISTRIBUTION METHOD…
Ah, Jack White, ever the spectacle. The rocker has recently released the new track “Freedom at 21” from his upcoming album “Blunderbuss” by way of 1,000 helium balloons released into the Nashville sky. The balloon packages included custom postcards with instructions for the finder to submit photos and notify the label about where he/she discovered the disc. According to a statement by the singer’s own Third Man Records, “approximately 10%” of the records have already been found.
“Blunderbuss” is scheduled to be released on April 23, following the definite break-up of former band The White Stripes. White explained that there was “absolutely no chance” he would ever reform the duo with former wife Meg, adding that he would only reconsider if he “went bankrupt.”
White reportedly said, “I’m not the kind of person that would retire from baseball and come out of retirement the next year. I mean, if we went to all the trouble of telling people we’re done, we meant it, you know?”
